An in-person evaluation would involve assessment of the blood vessels to the affected foot

Examination of the leg and foot for associated deformities including examination of the skin 

Patients who have had previous ankle surgery must have their incisions examined 

Fusions can be taken down and existing hardware from fractures may possibly be removed
