How long will I be in the hospital and what is involved?

Hospitalization is two to three days
Pre-admission testing is usually done ten days prior to surgery
Out-of-state patients can arrange to have their pre-admission testing done in their state
No blood donations are necessary
Surgery is usually about two hours. Complex cases are longer
A short-leg cast is applied during surgery
Pain medication is administered while hospitalized
