Leg elevation is crucial, continue with ice packs and pain medication may be necessary

The initial post-operative visit is 8-10 days after surgery and consists of the following:

-	Wound Examination (crucial part of the visit)
-	X-ray evaluation
-	Many times the cast is changed to a walking cast
