Patient profile:	This 33 year-old woman had significant stiffness and severe pain in her left humeral head (shoulder) which did not respond to anti-inflammatory or pain medications.
Pre-operative diagnosis:	Avascular necrosis secondary to steroid therapy of the shoulder
