Marjorie, a 63 year-old woman from New Jersey: |
| Prior to surgery, I was in considerable pain and had numbness in my foot and leg. My limp slowed me down, even with the use of a cane. Two to three months after surgery, I was able to walk again, with no pain, no limp, and at full speed. The 4-6 weeks after surgery were uncomfortable but tolerable. The nursing care was very good and I felt confident in the skills of my doctor, the nurses, and the physical and occupational therapists. I am now walking more and have returned to work, dancing, bike riding. I no longer have to wonder where my cane is. |
