Patient profile: |
This 67 year old man was taking various non-steriodal anti-inflammatory medication which gave him only mild relief of his symptoms. He complained of increasing pain on weight bearing and could only walk one block. |

Pre-operative diagnosis: |
Severe osteoarthritis of the right knee with a fixed-valgus (knock-knee) deformity and complete articular collapse of the lateral compartment |

Surgical treatment: |
Total knee replacement |

Implant (prosthesis): |
New Jersey LCS total knee replacement |

Surgical Outcome: |
The patient was completely relieved of pain and stated that he could ambulate for prolonged distances greater than six blocks. He began playing golf and scored in the low 90s. His overall strength was excellent. |
